Castle Guard Enrolment Requirements
Citizens of the Czech Republic who successfully fulfil the conditions of the selection proceedings and the following
special criteria may apply for a service in the Castle Guard:
1. Qualification prerequisites and educational requirements
An applicant for discharge of a function in the Castle Guard must fulfil the basic qualification prerequisites in accordance with Section 3 paragraph 1 of Act No. 221/1999 Coll., on professional soldiers, and the Decree of the Ministry of Defence no. 270/1999 Coll., which stipulates the qualification prerequisites for service allocation of professional soldiers.
- for officer function - Bachelor's or Master's university degree
- for warrant officer function - complete secondary education concluded with school leaving certificate
- for sergeant function - secondary technical education
2. Psychological examinations
- basic psychological examination of professional soldier
- psychological examination for performance of guard service
(only for applicants for guard unit) - targeted psychological examination for service in Castle Guard
3. Security capability
- verification of security capability by course of the amendment to Act No. 148/1998 Coll. and Government Decree No. 385/2003 Coll. of October 29, 2003
4. Physical prerequisites
- height 178 to 188 cm
- weight must correspond to height, applicant must not be overweight
- no visible cosmetic defects, tattoos, piercing or earrings
- no form of beard, haircut including facial hair in accordance with the basic code of the Armed Forces
- health classification "A" (no health limitations, applicant for guard service must not wear glasses)
- assessment of examination of physical training excellent or good
