Declaration of elections, convening of session and dissolution of Chamber of Deputies
Decision of the President of the Republic in relation to the representative bodies of the Czech Republic
Power of the President of the Republic to call the Parliamentary and Senate elections of the Czech Republic and municipal and county elections, as well as the power to convene the session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate and to dissolve the Chamber of Deputies result from the Constitution of the Czech Republic and the Acts No. 152/1994 Coll., on Election for Municipal Deputies and No. 130/2000 Coll., on Election for County Deputies.

The President of the Republic, Václav Klaus selected Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, 2006 as the date of the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. After his decision was countersigned by the Prime Minister, the President sent out his decision to be published in the Collection of Laws.
According to the election law, the elections will be announced on the date the President’s decision has been published in the Collection of Law.

President of the Republic, Vaclav Klaus, decided on calling the Parliamentary and the Senate elections of the Czech Republic and on municipal and county elections.
In accordance with Art. 63 para. 1 letter (f) and while considering Art. 17 para. 1 of the Constitution of the Czech Republic and section 1 subsections 3 and 4 of the Act No. 247/1995 Coll., on the Parliamentary Election of the Czech Republic and the Modification of and Amendment to Certain Other Acts (the "Election Act"), as amended, the President of the Republic has called the elections for the Senate of the Czech Republic in the election districts Nos. 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34, 37, 40, 43, 46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 61, 64, 67, 70, 73, 76 and 79 in which the election period of the elected members of the Senate of the Czech Republic will expire in accordance with the Constitution of the Czech Republic and the Election Act and has determined the days for the first round thereof to take place on Friday and Saturday, November 5 and 6, 2004. In those election districts in which senators have not been elected in the first round the second round of the election will take place on November 12 and 13, 2004.
In accordance with Art. 63 para. 2 of the Constitution of the Czech Republic and section 3 subsections 1 and 2 of the Act No. 130/2000 Coll., on the County Election and Modification of Certain Acts, as amended, the President of the Republic has called the county election and has determined the days to take place on Friday and Saturday, November 5 and 6, 2004.

President of the Republic, Vaclav Klaus, decided on calling the Senate by-election of the Czech Republic in the election district No. 20 - Praha 4 and the election district No. 54 - Znojmo on July 7, 2004. The President has determined the election days to take place on Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9, 2004.

President of the Republic, Vaclav Klaus, has decided on this day, February 5, 2004, in accordance with Art. 63 para. 2 of the Constitution of the Czech Republic and section 3 subsection 2 of the Act No. 62/2003 Coll., on the Election for the European Parliament and Modification of Certain Acts, in accordance with Art. 10 para. 2 of the Act on Establishment of the General and Direct Election of the Members to the European Parliament published in the Official Bulletin No. L278 on October 8, 1976 and the EC Directive No. 78/639 of July 25, 1978, on Calling the Election to the European Parliament.
The date of the election for the European Parliament has been fixed on Friday, June 11 and on Saturday, June 12, 2004.
