Summer promenade concerts of military music have been held continuously at Prague Castle since 1843. This year will mark the 178th concert season, featuring uniformed large wind bands that carry on this tradition - admired throughout the world. A total of five matinees will be held in the South Gardens of Prague Castle each at 10:15 a.m. Do not miss this unique traditional concert production, according to Eduard Hanslick, the famous 19th century music critic, "public performances of military music in an open space are the most democratic way of listening to music"..

Visitors are reminded that access to the South Gardens of Prague Castle is via the Bull Staircase from the Third Courtyard or through the Na Opyši Gate. The entrance from Hradčany Square is closed.
