President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, together with his wife Eva Pavlová, visited the Republic of Estonia on 26-28 May 2026. The visit concluded a series of state visits to all three Baltic countries.
During the visit, the President met with the country’s highest constitutional representatives, including President Alar Karis, Prime Minister Kristen Michal, and Speaker of Parliament Lauri Hussar. The main topics of discussion were opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation and responses to the changing security environment in Europe.
The programme also focused on cybersecurity. Together with his Estonian counterpart, the President Pavel addressed the international cybersecurity conference CyCon.
The programme further included a visit to the Baltic Defence Line project, a system of defence measures being built by Estonia and other Baltic states on NATO’s eastern flank, as well as a briefing by the Estonian intelligence services.
The visit also focused on strengthening mutual trade relations and opening up new business opportunities. The Presidents of both countries jointly opened the Estonia-Czechia Business Forum. The delegation was accompanied by several dozen Czech entrepreneurs active in the defence industry, cybersecurity, and transport.
The presidential couple concluded their trip in Tartu, where they visited Estonia’s most important university. In the presence of the President of the Czech Republic, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Masaryk University and the University of Tartu.
