President Pavel and Mrs. Eva Pavlová made a working visit to Australia and New Zealand

President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel and Mrs. Eva Pavlova made a working visit to Australia and New Zealand at the end of November and the beginning of December. 

During the five-day visit to Australia, the President of the Czech Republic discussed Czech-Australian cooperation with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Governor-General Sam Mostyn. He also opened a business forum, met with entrepreneurs and Czech expatriates, and delivered a speech at the prestigious Lowy Institute in front of more than 350 prominent figures from political and business circles. His visit concluded with a briefing at the University of Adelaide, a visit to the innovation district Lot Fourteen, and a meeting with children at a Czech school.

During four working days in New Zealand, the President held talks on Czech-New Zealand cooperation with the countrys top officials, including Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Minister of Defense Judith Collins, and Governor-General Cindy Kiro. He delivered a speech at the prestigious University of Auckland and also opened a local business seminar. The visit included a meeting with the National Security Department of the Government Office and a tour of the Space Institute. The President also meet with Czech expatriates during his visit to New Zealand, holding gatherings in Auckland and the capital city, Wellington.

It highlighted the critical importance of direct engagement with a part of the world that is assuming an ever-growing role in global politics, security, and trade. High-level political and business discussions focused on shared priorities such as defense, cybersecurity, healthcare, energy, science, and innovation, reaffirming our commitment to deepening cooperation across all sectors," The President summarized.
