On Monday, 19 January 2026, the President of the Czech Republic and Mrs Eva Pavlová visited the Vatican. The official visit to the Holy See included an audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV as well as talks with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State.

The President and First Lady also visited the Czech Pontifical College Nepomucenum, intended primarily for Czech and Moravian priests and seminarians studying at pontifical universities. The final stop of the official visit was the Basilica of St Clement, where they laid flowers in the crypt at the symbolic tomb of St Cyril.
