On Thursday, 9 April 2026, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, received the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at Prague Castle, on the occasion of his first official visit to the Czech Republic.

The two heads of state discussed bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and the Italian Republic, cooperation within the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, the current security situation in connection with Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and developments in the Middle East.
