President of the Czech Republic and his wife visited Argentina

President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel and his wife Eva Pavlová arrived on Monday, 13 April, for an official visit to the Argentine Republic. As part of the programme, the President met with the country’s top political representatives, including President Javier Milei, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress Martín Menem, and Mayor of Buenos Aires Jorge Macri.
The President also opened the Argentine-Czech Business Forum, attended by a business delegation focused on defence, security, mining, science and innovation.
During their stay in Buenos Aires, the presidential couple visited the Holocaust Museum and the Czech House, where they met with representatives of the Czech expatriate community. The President also delivered a lecture at the Argentine Council for International Relations.
The aim of the visit was to further strengthen bilateral relations, in particular in the areas of security, defence, the economy and scientific cooperation. The visit also included the signing of an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services.
