Children's Day at Prague Castle

On 24 May, the gates of the Royal Garden at Prague Castle will open for all children and families. You will be able to immerse yourself in the magic of traditional folk crafts, together with Micka the cat. You can journey back in time to the age of swordsmen, merry jugglers, and brave legionnaires, or enjoy a fairy-tale theatre performance. Don't forget the roasting of sausages and rides on historic wooden carousels.

In the Stag Moat, you will meet the soldiers of the Castle Guard, who will be happy to show you their skills. In addition, you can encounter American Indians and refreshments for all visitors.

In the Royal Garden, members of the Presidential Protection Unit will showcase their specialized skills.

Throughout the day, more than 35 children's and non-profit organizations will present competitions, games, quizzes, and educational programmes. A small prize awaits children who visit the various stations and collect the stamps.

You can look forward to a personal audience with Emperor Rudolf II and his retinue, as well as one great surprise! The meeting will take place throughout the day in the Ball Game Hall in the Royal Garden. A big thank you goes to Barrandov Studios, who lent historical costumes and helped create an authentic atmosphere from the time of Rudolf II.

Lovers of singing and musical performances will also enjoy the "Children to Children" project, where children from children's homes have prepared a vibrant programme of songs and melodies.

Admission to the Children's Day – both to the Royal Garden and the Stag Moat – is free, with all access routes open to the public.

Children's Day is held under the patronage of the President's wife, Eva Pavlová.
