Sebastião Salgado - Genesis
Significant Brazilian documentary photographer Sebastião Salgado (* 1944) is presented in the Royal Summer Palace with his third cycle called "Genesis."
The aim of this cycle is to motivate all-society debate on the burning issues of environmental protection. A set of over two hundred stunning black and white photographs of wildlife, oceans and indigenous people is the result of eight years of traveling around the world. Salgado began to document the original untouched nature in 2004 and during his journey he has captured the majestic pictures of the Arctic plains, deserts, the tropical rainforests, the marine and terrestrial wildlife and, last but not least, the ancient communities that even today live by family traditions of their ancestors.
The exhibition is organized by Prague Castle Administration and Czech Federation of Photographic Art.
