Stanislav Libenský Award 2022

The Stanislav Libensky Award is a prestigious international competition for emerging international glassmakers, which has earned the nickname "Oscar for young glassmakers" over the twelve years of its existence.

This competition, organized by the Prague Gallery of Czech Glass, o.p.s., has firmly established itself on the Prague cultural scene and regularly brings works by emerging glassmakers and young glassmakers personally to Prague every year. It is the only competition in the world open only to recent graduates of glass universities worldwide.

The competition bears the name of Professor Stanislav Libensky, who, after his long and dedicated teaching activity, devoted himself to a vibrant creative work in collaboration with Jaroslava Brychtová. They founded and then expanded their studio and quickly introduced new sculptures made of fused glass of fundamental importance. Their glass sculptures represent a timeless inspirational legacy for the next generation of glass artists.

This year, 38 young glass artists from 13 countries are participating in the exhibition, as conceived by exhibition architect Ricardo Hoineff.

The patronage of the exhibition was taken over by the wife of the President of the Czech Republic, Mrs. Ivana Zemanová.

The exhibition is organized by the Office of the President of the Republic, the Prague Castle Administration, and the Prague Gallery of Czech Glass, o. p. s.
