TIZIANO - VANITAS. The Poet of the Image and the Shade of Beauty.

The exhibition is organized by Prague Castle Administration in collaboration with association Art for Public. The exhibiotion aims to introduce to general public lifelong works of Italian Renaissance painter Titian Vecellio.

Due to the security situation in Europe the opening of the exhibition has been postponed to December 15, 2015

For the first time in art exhibitions‘ history, will be on display at Prague Castle the subject of „Young woman with mirror“, mostly interpreted as the allegory of the “Vanitas”, beside to artworks from Barcelona, Borromeo’s collection and other rare paintings from private collections. See these paintings together is a special opportunity also because they will be exhibited with other Titian masterpieces representing the „Beauty“ as for example the fascinating „Flora“, one of the Titian’s most amazing paintings, which will be the exceptional loan by the Uffizi Gallery. Furthermore visitors can admire the painter’s portraits, isolated or inserted in pictorial compositions, plus some objects that the Maestro used during his life. The precious jewel of the exhibition is a really rare document of XVI Century that never has been exhibited outside of Italy: the original Diploma of the Emperor Charles V, thanks to which Tiziano is nominated count palatine and knight of the Sacre Roman Empire.

The curators of the exhibition are emeritus professor Lionello Puppi, one of the maximum experts of Modern Art recognized at worldwide level, and professor Serena Baccaglini, who dedicated all her life in organizing art exhibitions in all over the world.
