Science at the Prague Castle: The Frontiers of Antitrust Economics: Industrial Organization and Competition Policy
Science-popularizing lecture from the series Science at the Prague Castle, that took place 8 January 2025 at the Prague Castle. Speaker: Jakub Kastl, Professor of Economics at Princeton University, Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research. His research is in the field of industrial organization, finance and microeconomics. He is a recipient of the Sloan Fellowship and was awarded several grants by the National Science Foundation. His recent work studies financial markets and platforms. He has worked with the European Central Bank, the Bank of Canada, or the US Department of Treasury. He was involved in the design and performance evaluation of various auction markets ranging from treasury bill auctions to spectrum auctions. Jakub received his Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Economics from Northwestern University, and his B.A. from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
