Open Day at Prague Castle
Want to learn more about the State Rooms? Download our e-brochure.
On Saturday, 12 April, Prague Castle will reopen its doors to the public!
From 9 am to 6 pm, you will have a unique opportunity to visit the otherwise inaccessible
State Rooms, which will be specially decorated with spring flowers. For example, you can peek into the rooms where President Petr Pavel welcomes distinguished guests and holds important meetings.
The tour starts at the ceremonial Matthias Gate and will lead you through Plečnik's Hall of Columns, Rothmayer Hall, Spanish Hall, and Rudolf Gallery. The tour also includes the Throne Room, the Habsburg Drawing Room, the Mirror Drawing Room, and other rooms. You can look forward to vibrant spring floral displays arranged by the castle decorators, featuring daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, and other flowers.
You will also have free access to the permanent exhibitions, including the classic visitor circuit, which features St. Vitus Cathedral, Golden Lane, the Old Royal Palace and St. George's Basilica, the castle gardens, and the exhibition Gifts for the President from Nearby and Faraway Lands in the Rosenberg Palace, which opened this January.
Please note: Free admission does not apply to the Great South Tower of the Cathedral
or the FRANTA exhibition.
