Prague Castle will open its gates once again this year, for the second time! You will be able to walk – free of charge – through the otherwise inaccessible state rooms, which will be decorated for Christmas and scented with pine needles. For example, you can peek into the rooms where President Petr Pavel holds important meetings or receives distinguished guests.

You can also visit, for free, the visitor circuit, including St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, and Golden Lane.

On the Open Day, you can explore – again, at no cost – the permanent exhibitions of Prague Castle: the Prague Castle Picture Gallery, The Story of Prague Castle, the Rosenberg Palace, and the Castle Guard Permanent Exhibition in Mihulka Tower.

The Christmas-themed Open Day will be followed by a rich Advent programme. This year, you can expect a Christmas Stroll at Prague Castle. What can you look forward to?

The Christmas Stroll at Prague Castle will take you across the Castle grounds, which will be lit up with Christmas workshops, exhibitions, and concerts, running from the beginning of Advent until 5 January.

On the terrace of the Prague Castle Riding School, you will find the picturesque Bethlehem Yurt by the Forman Brothers' Theatre and art workshops for children. In the Rosenberg Palace, explore The Delicate Beauty of Christmas: An Exhibition of Traditional Czech Decorations, featuring a forest of Christmas trees adorned with magical, traditionally hand-blown Czech ornaments. Every Sunday of Advent, you can enjoy concerts by the Band of the Castle Guard and choirs from Prague's elementary art schools.

Come to create, enjoy, or just stop for a moment to breathe in the festive atmosphere.

We believe that one visit is not enough.
