Organizational structure

EmblemThe numbers of the Military Office are stipulated in accordance with Section 6 of Act No. 219/1999 Coll., by the Government of the Czech Republic. The organisational composition is set by the tables of peacetime and wartime numbers approved by the President of the Republic.

At the head of the Military Office is a Chief of Staff, who is appointed by the President of the Republic in accordance with Section 5 of Act No. 219/1999 Coll., and who is directly subordinate to the President of the Republic pursuant to Section 25 of the aforementioned Act.

The Chief of Staff of the Military Office appoints to functions members of the Military Office and appoints and recalls the Commander of the Castle Guard.

In accordance with Section 8 of Act No. 219/1999 Coll., the Chief of Staff of the Military Office has authorisations as the Minister of Defence with regard to the soldiers of the Military Office and soldiers of the Castle Guard, as stipulated by special legal regulations (Act No. 220/1999 Coll., Act No. 221/1999 Coll.).
