The Parliament has adopted the following Act of the Czech Republic:
§ 1
(1) The Office of the President of the Republic (hereinafter referred to as "the Office") is hereby established.
(2) The Office is an organisational unit of the state with its separate chapter in the state budget of the Czech Republic.
§ 2
(1) The Office shall take care of the matters related to:
a) the exercise of powers of the President of the Republic provided for under the Constitution of the Czech Republic, constitutional statutes and ordinary laws; and
b) formal duties and public activity of the President of the Republic and his spouse or partner.
(2) The Office shall pay the allowance and the versatile lump-sum compensation to the former President of the Republic and shall provide a vehicle with or without a driver for personal disposal, to an extent and under conditions stipulated by a special legal regulation.1)
(3) The Office shall also take care of the matters related to the preparation of the President-elect for the exercise of office and his related public activities from the time of his election until he takes the oath of office.

§ 3
(1) The Office shall exercise the right of management over the immovable property of the Czech Republic consisting of the area of Prague Castle, Lány Chateau and of other immovable property forming together a single operational unit and shall take care thereof as of the seat of the President of the Republic; the Office shall also exercise the right of management over movable property related to this immovable property historically or functionally or which is related to the activities of the Office. The provisions of this paragraph are without prejudice to special laws on the regulation of property relations.1a)
(2) The Office may establish partially state budget-funded organisations for performance of the tasks pursuant to para. 1.2)

§ 4
(1) The Office shall be headed by the Head of the Office appointed and dismissed by the President of the Republic.
(2) The President shall stipulate the internal organization of the Office and the circle of its managerial staff to be appointed and dismissed by the President.
(3) The salary and the remuneration for on-call duty of the Office employees shall be governed by a special legal regulation2a) and the Office Salary Rules.
(4) The Office Salary Rules shall be issued by the Head of the Office, after an approval of the President of the Republic.

§ 5
The Military Office of the President of the Republic is a military department of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. The tasks of the Military Office of the President of the Republic, the appointment and dismissal of the Chief of the Military Office of the President of the Republic and his competence are shall be governed by a special legal regulation.3)

§ 6
(1) Rights and obligations arising from the employment and other relations of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic shall be transferred to the Office on the date of entry into force of this Act.
(2) Partially state budget-funded organisations established by the Office of the President of the Czech Republic pursuant to Art. III para. 2 of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 548/1992 Coll. shall be deemed to be the partially state budget-funded organisations established by the Office pursuant to this Act.
§ 7
The following is hereby repealed:
1.Act No. 135/1991 Coll., on the Office of the President of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic; and
2. Art. III of the Act of the Czech National Council No. 548/1992 Coll., on Certain Other Measures in the System of Central Bodies of the State Administration of the Czech Republic and on Establishment of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic.
§ 8
This Act comes into force on the date of its promulgation.
