Closures at Prague Castle on 9. 12. 2023
Information about closures at Prague Castle on 9. 12. 2023
(for operational, technical and liturgical reasons)
Charged visitor objects and exhibitions
Open until 12:00:
- All information centres and ticket offices of Prague Castle;
- Prague Castle Picture Gallery;
- Exhibition in the Imperial Stables: The Windows of St. Vitus Cathedral.
Open until 13:00:
- Visitor facilities (St. George's Basilica, Old Royal Palace and Golden Lane with exhibitions and Daliborka Tower);
- The Story of Prague Castle exhibition;
- The Castle Guard exhibition;
- after 13:00, the Golden Lane will remain freely passable, but the exhibitions and the Daliborka Tower will be closed (i.e. it will be in the same mode as during normal opening hours after 16:00).
St. Vitus Cathedral and the Cathedral's observation tower will be closed all day.
Outdoor areas
- I. Courtyard, a large part of II. Courtyard and part of III. Courtyard will be completely closed from the morning (map can be found here);
- one entire pedestrian passageway in III. Courtyard will also be closed from approx. 9:30 to 12:00, and the same in the afternoon from approximately 13:00 to 15:00;
- walking between III. Courtyard and Jiřské náměstí will be possible only via Vikářská Street during the above-mentioned times;
- we expect that passing through the Castle between the II. and III. Courtyard will not be possible at all between approx. 13:30 and 14:15 due to commemorative reasons.
Due to the size of the event, we recommend visiting Prague Castle only in the early morning hours. It is also possible (depending on the situation) that the Police may have to regulate the entrances to the Prague Castle grounds during the service.
Thank you for your understanding.
